How not to list an item.

Looking at dresses on ebay I came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YUMI-LADIES-GREEN-SLEEVELESS-TOP-SIZE-S-/120612378444?pt=Women_s_Clothing
Seems like the seller is more interested in preaching their terms and conditions than describing the actual item.
As a buyer I want the item described in detail, which measurements, colours described, fabric, pattern etc.
Are they just lazy or what?

There's a firefight going on on the official forums about how much information a seller should give about an item and whether it is the buyer's responsibility to ask after things like (in this case) expiry dates, so yes, I think some sellers are more interested in the money they get and making sure a buyer can't claim it back (only to find such ideas are nonsense anyway) than actually describing a product well, getting a lot of bidders flocking to it and having happy customers at the end of the day.
Luckily I can still find friendly people to buy from, but it's getting worse."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

This brilliant:
"I DESCRIBE THE ITEMS THAT I SELL AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE SO DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS OR RETURNS"
They don't actually desribe the item at all!0 -
some items ive been looking at recently have literally just repeated the title and put no additional information in that top section were you can put size etc.
also makes me laugh when they dont mention the size anywhere, ive had to ask on so many items this last week.
I came across a seller who put something along the lines of
item sent with certificate of postage , if lost in post will only refund the item cost not postage. if you dont like pay me an extra 74p for recorded.
I thought thats fine if its lost i will just claim through paypal! why do people put these stupid things in0 -
And they're one of the ones who put seasonal information in their listings and then forget to take it out- August isn't really "post christmas".
(Personal bugbear lol)This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
My other bugbear along these lines are when you really like something but because there are no details have to 'ask seller a question' but they don't bother responding and then it goes for a song !!
So many sellers have missed out on potential bidding wars by not answering a simple question !!
Ps I also hate the 'library photo' rather than the thing they're selling - puts me off immediately !! Last time I asked for photos of the potential purchase (a desk, so quite important really!!!) I was told I was being awkward !! BTW, it never sold !Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
My bugbear is sellers who are collect only BUT then only put London as their location! And when you mail them they answer after the auction has finished. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0

I saw one a couple of weeks back which would beat even that listing...it had NO description at all! I don't think they'd even filled out the item specifics, it was just as though someone had stolen the bottom half of the page.
I bet they had 5 stars for "Item as described".0 -
I think the seller needs to buy themselves a new keyboard as well, 'cos it looks like the caps lock key is broken0
