I found a piece of wood in a pack of Walkers Sensations crisps - It had been cooked and I found it when I inadvertently put it into my mouth thinking it was a crisp. It was disgusting and I still feel sick about it now. I actually bought the pack of crisps when I was away so can not return the pack to the actual chop that I purchased them from and also did not keep the receipt. My question is what is the best way to complain and who do I complain to ? do I go to my local supermarket part of the same chain or do I write to Walkers ? I am not looking for a refund or worse still another pack of crisps, I want to have this investigated. I dont want to just get a standard response from the company and some vouchers for my trouble as I will never eat Walkers crisps again, It was just so disgusting.

best thing to do is to send it to walkers as they will have to investigate it. you will probably get offered something, but i'm sure if you say you'd rather they gave any recompense awarded to you to a local charity they would probably do it.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0

Your local environmental health office may well take this up, they have teeth to fine Walkers and will cause the company more hassle than an in house complaint.

They will test the piece of wood if you send it in to them. if it got in your pack there a good chance there would be more packs affected. I work for Walkers and they do take it very serious when this happends. I have known them to take 1000's of packets of crisp's to the tip, just in case they were affected, but saying that I have known people trying it on with them as well. There was one lady that said she found a live beetle in a packet, which turned out to be a lie.
Keep the empty packet as well because they will need the code off the pack to find out were they were made and the line and time they were made.0 -
thanks for the replies. I think I will send it to Walkers then and let them investigate. I do still have the pack along with the crisps left in it that I now can not face to eat - am gutted really as I loved them
but could not face even trying to eat them after this happened. I actually didnt know what it was but my DD thinks it is a piece of wood. It has been cooked too and it has all the flavouring on it. YEUCH.

The crisps, fat and salt will probably do you more harm than the bit of wood lol,
I read if you have 1 packet a day (easy done) its like drinking 3 litres of cooking fat in a year! now thats yuch
I love crisps but dont eat them as I cant be bothered picking them off my teeth when I finished. Yuch0
