Boundary Query

Does anyone know how to find out who is responsible for a properties boundary? I thought the land registry would be able to provide such information but it looks like the Title Plan only highlights the area of a property and not who is responsible for each of its boundaries.

    The land reg should know, and it's identified with a capital "T" coming off the boundary. However, the general rule is the right hand boundary. It might be best to email the land reg to see what they say.

    DO you have the Title Regsiter? Does is mention any Conveyances or Transfer Deeds in it? If so these may have plans/text that will tell you about the boundaries. You can get these from the Land Regsirty too.

    Sorry - but this just isn't true about 70% of the time.

    Its a sore point for me as I had the FIL going on at me that the right hand side is our boundary when we bought our house and even though I'm a legal secretary he wouldn't believe me till I showed him our deeds. bl**dy in-laws

    One might own a fence, but both parties have a claim on 1/2 of the boundary.
