Not giving it to the bl**dy banks!!

I've a bit of money coming to me soon and have decided after long thought that the interest the banks give me is so derisory that I shall withdraw what savings I have with them and with the money coming to me I shall invest the lot in Premium Bonds, so there!! I am fed up to the back teeth of our banks and the system that runs them. They ran their banking systems, before we bailed them out, worst than a teenager would. They gave money in mortgages and loans to all and sundry no matter whether or not they could repay them, and some of them didn't. That's why we are in the financial mess we are in and shall be for years to come. If standing in queues to pay bills wasn't anathema to me, as it was 40 years ago, I would finish with my bank and go back to the Good Old Days of cash.:mad::mad:

Your money, your loss.I am fed up to the back teeth of our banks and the system that runs them. They ran their banking systems, before we bailed them out, worst than a teenager would.
The issues were mostly caused by the investment banks and not the retail banks. The retail banks didnt help themselves but if it wasnt for the investment banks, the retail banks wouldnt have got into trouble.
I suggest you also avoid every other industry that has had to be bailed out in the past as well. No more trains or cars for you. No more heating in winter.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). And if you happen to win absolutely nothing on those premium bonds, surely that would be even more derisory?
If you don't want to keep your money in the bank ok, but don't just put it all in the first thing you think of. Plenty of things you could do with it.0 -
Sounds like a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.Stompa0

for those that like a modest gamble premium bonds are OK... you are only gambling with the equivalent 'lost' interest after all.0

Unless your premium bonds come up of course, then you're laughing !
Another possibility for you, 'Cardinal' running in the 6:40 at Kempton...0 -
Premium bond returns are as good or better than those on most bank instant access accounts, and it's much more fun when you win0

1.5% is the current premium bonds average win amount. Premium bonds are not instant access so cant be compared to bank instant access. You could compare them to direct access though i suppose.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Laughable
Instead of putting your money in the banks, you are going to lend them to the Government, the organisation that through its policy of spending far more than it has - and borrowing the balance (how ironic) - has done more to bankrupt the country than any bank could ever do in a million years of trying.
Smart move Hadrian. I can see you've thought this through well.0 -
