Seller disappeared?

I bought a bed for £315 from a powerseller on ebay at the end of June. They sounded really professional when they called, and had excellent feedback. As I did not need the bed immediately (was bought for a new house) I asked if they could postpone delivery until nearer the time of my house move. They said that was absolutely fine, they could store it in their warehouse and to ring them back in August / Sept. when I needed the item.
I am now thinking I made a big mistake not getting it delivered straight away.
I've been trying to ring them for the last three weeks and their phone is never answered. They are not replying to emails either, although I know that they are not on holiday as they are still listing items on ebay. The 30 days (PayPal) and 60 days (dispute mediation from Ebay) have obviously elapsed, so I have no redress there. Is it possible to get a chargeback through my credit card company (I paid using a natwest mastercard). Or will I have to go through the small claims court?

I think that contacting your credit card issuer would be the best option.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

if they are still selling things on ebay ask a qustion through my ebay and ask one of the sale steam to ring you as you have a number of questions to ask about the item. if they do ring you then you can ask about your previous orderGive blood - its free0

Powersellers and excellent feedback can also mean they have the power to bully you.
It's the way ebay works  You can surely get a chargeback through the cc?
I guess it's because there's no need for them to honour it and you can't leave feedback now as it's prob too late. This won't stop some moneysavers from coming to this thread and saying it's all your fault :rotfl: just ignore them if they do

I would just add that I'm a powerseller with excellent feedback (i'm getting big headed...) and I treat my buyers exactly the same way now that I always have done. As my turnover is slowing down I'll probably lose my PS status eventually, and when I do does that automatically make me a better seller? I wouldn't think so!
I can't see how being a powerseller makes any difference to whether you can be bullied or not, all PS status does is give you an icon next to your name.
Going back to the OP, all I can suggest is the same that others have already suggested and try talking to your credit card company. Often claiming times through them are longer than those on paypal and ebay.

Thanks for your replies. I was having to go down the chargeback route as the timeframe for claiming / disputing through paypal and ebay had elapsed, whereas chargeback allows 120 days.
The seller has suddenly re-appeared (don't know if this has anything to do with my requesting his details through ebay as before I thought of chargeback I was planning to take this to the small claims court). Apparently they have moved offices and the phone line has been out of order for quite a while (!). Anyway, fingers crossed, this has just been a communications problem and the item is being delivered next week.
Apparently I would have been able to get my money back through cc issuer - this has reinforced for me that one should never buy anything through the internet or over the phone that is not paid for by credit card. In true MSE style I was working towards paying off and then cutting up my cards, but I think I shall continue to keep one for such purchases.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000 -
Good plan. Glad your seller has emerged from hiding
