NS&I Closed Accounts

In the September edition of MONEYWISE it states "Those with NS&I accounts will be able to put more money into them, but no new accounts can be opened until further notice"

Does this mean that I can add to my NS&I Inflation linked account?

Somehow I do not think so.... ?

The NS&I "inflation linked account" was an index-linked savings certificate. You could never add new funds to a savings certificate only invest, within limits, in new certificates of whatever issues were on offer at the time.

I can see no new announcement on the NS&I website about other NS&I accounts. So is it possible that the article does refer to savings certificates? If so then the only explanation that I can think of is that existing holders of savings certificates (fixed and index-linked) can reinvest funds from matured certificates into new certificates (fixed or index-linked).
