  • All you are doing is paying interest on money you borrowed, and didn't pay back by the agreed time.

The sneaky bit is that you have to have paid 2 months bills in full before your account becomes interest free again.

In my opinion that is unfair, just as it is unfair that customers who don't pay in full pay interest on new purchases from the date of purchase, whereas those who pay in full (and pay no interest) get interest free on new purchases too.

Unfortunately the way the government have stipulated that APR's are calculated, this card would have the same APR as say Barclaycard, even though it has this sneaky trailing interest calculation.

I suggest you complain, copy a letter to tesco head office and say the daily mail and office of fair trading to at least make your point.

However, as kindly pointed out it is expressly stated in the terms and conditions that you signed.

But how is it sneaky if it's right there in the summary box? Which takes about three minutes to read! Most cards work like that, I think, Barclaycard seems to be an exception. And tbh, if you don't pay on time why should you benefit from interest free credit immediately?
