Hi PJF
I've just found your diary
Good luck with your 'to-do' list. Thank you for reminding me that I need to deal with the weeds in my front garden too.

Overpayment of £80 made today after usual payment taken. Getting there slowly...Been having a think about a target and I think it may be first of all to make £1000 of OPs. I need to sort out the best time in the month to get an up to date balance on the mortgage so I can set a target of say to get below £65K. I can't view my mortgage online - is anyone with a NatWest mortgage able to do this?0

PJF well done on the OP!
I think setting a target is a good idea and breaking it into manageable chunks....I tend to see my target as £128000 which often feels overwhelming :rotfl:
no tips about natwest mortgage Im afraid I know with other banks you can set your mortgage up as an "account" thru online banking? not sure about natwest tho0 -
Made an OP of £235 today which was my half of the deposit on old rental property. Thought it might as well come straight off the mortgage as I hadn't counted on the deposit for anything - I'd actually forgotten about it until moving out.
I've saved more than a months mortgage payment in interest now so this has really given me a boost.0 -
Paid another £155 as an OP so that means I've made £500 in overpayments so far - yeay! Next target will be to make £1000 in OPs I think. Not sure when this will be with next months festivities but will keep shuffling the pennies to keep momentum.
I've also switched gas and electric companies. This wasn't on my to do list yet but my bill was rather higher than I was expecting so better to do something about it now.
I've also discovered a bit of a crack in the wall near my bedroom window. Doesn't look serious but will have to take a closer look at the weekend just to make sure0 -
Another £30 OP winging its way to Nat West. Do you think they will be irritated by my small payments? I want to make OP as soon as possible as interest is calculated daily so I reckon it's beneficial to me - well it makes sense in my head!
Another productive weekend. Sofas were finally delivered. They're a bit bigger than I seem to remember so I have had to rejig my front room. Good job I didn't buy furniture for in there or it could have been a bit of an issue.
I've also had the crack in my wall looked at - it's apparently ok but better safe than sorry. I also resealed round my bedroom window as I noticed a draught from it. The bottom didn't have any sealant so that should cure that problem.
Radiators bled (if that's even a word), news towels washed and put out and fresh bed linen. Bliss :beer:0 -
Well done on your progress so far. I'm just starting out with my overpaying journey. Looking forward to seeing how you get on0

OP of £30 today. Payday today and this rounded down my account nicely.
I'm procrastinating at the moment and instead of doing my OU work (which I was doing instead of going to the gym), I've created a chart to colour in as I pay off each £100 of my mortgage balance so I have a visual guide to how much of my home I own. Can't wait until my regular monthly payment is taken and I can call for a balance and get a few more squares shaded in. Oh dear, how sad am I?0
