AOL wireless network problems

Have just changed to AOL broadband and received their wireless router (Netgear DG834G). Have been through installation process - all ok when as a wired connection. However, when i attempt to connect wirelessly, my wireless adapter tray icon says all connected, excellent signal, gives IP address. Wireless network connection icon says limited or no connectivity and then tries to get IP address - fails and then doesn't connect. All the SSID and WEP detaiuls are entered, but I can't seem to solve it. I know the wireless adapter (Intel PROset /wireless 3945ABG) works because it connects to my wireless network at work.
Help!!!! Any suggestioins before I die of boredom on hold (LONG hold) to AOL Tech help.
