AOL wireless network problems

Have just changed to AOL broadband and received their wireless router (Netgear DG834G). Have been through installation process - all ok when as a wired connection. However, when i attempt to connect wirelessly, my wireless adapter tray icon says all connected, excellent signal, gives IP address. Wireless network connection icon says limited or no connectivity and then tries to get IP address - fails and then doesn't connect. All the SSID and WEP detaiuls are entered, but I can't seem to solve it. I know the wireless adapter (Intel PROset /wireless 3945ABG) works because it connects to my wireless network at work.
Help!!!! Any suggestioins before I die of boredom on hold (LONG hold) to AOL Tech help.

Try wpa-psk tkip instead of wep, the symptom you describe is usually a mismatched key..

what ip address have you been issued?
using window to manage the connection is usually smoother than using software that comes with adapters.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I have had similar problems and with the help of albertross and wolfman turned out to be the firewall that was blocking the damn thing. Try and deactivate your firewall if one is running and see if things would change.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
