Hi guys,
This is a bit of an unecessary post really but I just felt the need to say how much having the online banking with the Co-Op cashminder has helped and I feel "liberated" from the bankruptcy now.
Its like im a normal person again!!:D
The Barclays account doesnt give you the online banking and their customer service is more like a, Sell as much as we can to you whilst keeping you on a high rate phone call type of customer service!
Co-Op on the other hand... Excellent, cant fault them and I can now set up standing orders etc etc with ease!!

Planning on opening one of these myself in the near future (possibly tomorrow) so that's good to hear.
Not the type of guy to feel emasculated by everything financial being in my wife's name but it'll still be nice to rejoin the human race.“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0 -

That's great news Left...! I'm so pleased that things are working out for you.
I've always had a lot of respect for the Co-Op. They provide the main shop in the small rural town where I live and always keep their prices reasonable (unlike T*sco, who use their small rural "Express" store to hike up their prices ). They were also doing Fairtrade stuff long before the Big Boys!
Hope life continues to improve for you, Left...

Hi Lefty. Yep, all I can do is agree and endorse what you say. Co-op were brilliant from the moment I walked in. Wish I'd been with them ages ago. As I work in a cash business I particularly like the way you can pay in at any post Office up to closing time and have instant access to money as soon as it's paid in. The big banks could learn alot of lessons from them. And if you ever have to phone them, they make you feel genuinely welcome.0

I really think the Co-Op deserve a lot of credit for their attitude, which is markedly different to other banks.
Their call centre in Manchester seems to employ a lot of genuinely warm people. They've always been 100% helpful when I've needed to call them.0 -
Thanks guys!
I see you all have had a similar experience!
I am genuinely surprised at the quality and speed of service, their call centre is manned by polite and helpful staff as one or two of you have stated.
I am used to cold and unfriendly attitudes towards customers when it comes to bank's but not this one!!:D
Wish I wouldve gone to them a long time ago!0 -
Hi.
What's their clearing services like...?. I am with Santander and am thinking of changing banks. If you spent on your card one day, it can take a couple of days to show on your account. Is the Co-Op any different..?0 -
having recently opened my account i must say how impressed with them i have been.
as has been said, staff are helpful and respectful which cannot be said about other banks.
the online banking is helpful too, cannot understand why barclays dont allow it.0 -
I too have a Co-op account and think it's the best bank I've ever had an account with.
I can't fault the service or the people.
Dividend on the account too, I know it's not a lot but it all helps.
I wish I'd gone to them sooner.0 -

I have to admit that I'm never too sure what is showing up in my Coop account is correct. I back everything at home on paper because I find things don't clear too quickly. I really could get into a muddle at the end of the month if it wasn't for my own records.0 -
A debit card transaction will take 2 working days to show on the online banking, not too sure if you check at a cash machine. I for one will be staying with the Coop after I am discharged as I think they have been brilliant, cannot praise them enough.:pB&SC No. 298
