Virgin media broadband help?

Options
I got a new virgin router on saturday, connected it and everything went swimmingly, then about 4 hours later my wireless lost connection with the router, said signal was excellent but that router wasn't communicating... so phoned virigin.

was on the phone for 45 mins changed the channel and pass word, rebooted the pc and router and played around a bit more and it worked fine till this morning.

same thing has happened, you can only connect via ethernet.... i've checked and we are the only people using channel 6. everyone else is on 1 or 11. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Do you have a way of finding whether your router is putting out a wireless signal, say by looking on your laptop at the available connections?

turn off the modem and router, turn it back on , then reboot your computer.
Does that work. Virgin I am not sure what they are doing but it happens usually at night and a switch off and on and a reboot and it works aagain.

John Gray - the router is putting out a signall as when you go to connect to a network it's there with 'excellent' signal, when you go to connect it says there is no communication from the router.

I've tried turning everything off and on again but still no luck! Not impressed if i'm going to have to deal with this everyday either.

I recently got the new modem (gloss black blue LED's, don't know the name) and router (d-link dir 615) and the internet connection is frequently lost and requires a modem reboot and/or the router rebooting too.

I never thad this problem in all the previous years with the older [motorola] modem and my buffalo router
