Orlando and Florida Holiday Tips 2004

I asked Andrea to make sticky a thread on Orlando just before the site crashed and unfortunately this was lost in the site shuffle. So hopefully we can start again with MSE recommendations for flights, WDW tickets, accommodation etc.

Having searched ALL the websites myself for WDW tickets the cheapest I have come up with for the new Ultimate 14 day WDW ticket is £159 from
Attraction-Tickets-Direct although I could have sworn I found them for £154http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Perhaps you know better?

Can anybody tell me where I might find two adult tickets for the 10 day Disney world special cheaper than my existing quote of £179 each.

Any special offers should include travel 1 Oct to 20 Oct.

Thanks

I've been looking around for a while but £179 was the lowest I've found. Have emailed attractions direct tonight to see what deal they could do, so will let you know if it's lower. Mind you £179 seems a really good deal to me. We're going in October too.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

Got an email from attraction-tickets-direct this morning. They were offering the tickets for £178 so not much better, sorry. If you do manage to get them cheaper I'd be pleased if you'd let me know. Thanks.

Hi, Planning on visiting Florida next year with the Kids.(2 adults 2 Kids) Want to visit the usual places Disney etc.

Any suggestions to the best way to do this? Is it better to go alone and book seperate flights & accomodation or do packages compare better? Wheres the best to stay etc?

Anybody got any good tips? Thanks

travel city direct are also usually a good bet if you do choose full package stuff, I'd recommend them anyway

We've been several times and have always gone independantly.

Try https://www.ebookers.com or https://www.travelocity.co.uk for flights. You might want to check out airlines sites too.

    https://www.daltonsholidays.com, https://www.lastminutevillas.com or https://www.orlandovillas.com for villas.

https://www.expedia.co.uk, https://www.hotwire.com and https://www.priceline.com for hotels. Plus hotel chain's own sites.

    tickets - https://www.ticketmania.com

For info, these are great. https://www.flausa.com, https://www.undercovertourist.com (also good for attraction tickets), https://www.orlandocheapster.com, https://www.iloveorlando.com, https://www.mousesavers.com, https://www.orlandoinfo.com and https://www.orlando.about.com

Ther's a good one for Kissimmee/192 but i can't remember the site name but a search in google, I'm sure, will bring it up

If you do want to do a package try https://www.dreamsunlimited.com

The main problem is the choice ;D ;D

Avoid Travel City especially if you want a car. The prices they advertise can never be achieved. Ive challenged them several times to actually come up with the goods at the prices. The car hire inclusive bit doesnt include full cdw and you must have that unless you fancy going bankrupt... they add on average another £275pw to upgrade to this.

Biggest advice I can give is consider very carefully when you want to go as Disney is no fun when full. We always go last couple of weeks of school summer holidays. all americans are back at school, most brits have been and gone. We never queued in any of the parks for any ride. My brother went a month before us and didnt get on a tenth of the rides we did and was queuing up to 2hrs for big rides like Test Track in Epcot.

we've booked it separately...loads of accommodation at all prices available. there are busy areas to stay and quieter areas...really depends what would suit your family. worked out cheapest for us.....but it really depends how cheaply you can get your flights. if you can fly on a weekday or out of school holidays you will find more bargains. we went at easter but beware of american "spring break"...parks will be busy!
there are lots of websites around....try googling for forums with disney regulars.....they are full of useful tips.

:)many things to bear in mind. do you like to have your own space? villas with own swim pools are very cheap and close to all parks etc. Food is cheap , many places are all you can eat for 7dollars etc, hardly anyone cooks and all cafes etc do free fill ups with coffee etc, theme tickets can be brought at places close to disney or before you go. get a plan of the area and look at various villa sites many have a walk around programme so you can see the internal movies of the homes etc
    ps have a great time.
