Hi
I too have had my post ruined by an abusive poster and today it has disappeared completely, so I will leave the debt advice to others as I'm still learning and congratulate you for posting again.
If mine hasn't returned by tomorrow then I will repost too.
Good Luck with your debts, and take care.0 -

I wouldn't call it abuse meerustar, he was just giving you a few home truths. Personally I value honesty above all else. Being supportive doesn't always equate to being sychophantic.0 -
Keep it on track please peeps - this is It's a rich mans world thread about reducing debt.
Rich man, if your gym is your one luxury and is also your security blanket, then keep it up. The only thing is, you might be able to find a cheaper membership with another gym. Some offer off peak hours or are in a less fashionable area and costings can come down rapidly. Have you looked around thoroughly, rung em all up and seen how much they charge, or tried to drive a harder bargain? £80 is a lot even down in the expensive South for a gym membership!
Certainly unless you're self employed, if those phones are for work, then work should be paying all costs associated with them.0 -

Please ... this is not my thread, I am not asking for help, merely supporting another poster, so please, lets not get this thread on the same lines as mine. The poster needs help, so lets help. And if you have something to say to me then PM me and we can discuss it there.
Thankyou0 -
Thanks Guys I agree me and my hubbys gym is expensive however This is literally my only Luxury (some luxury I'd rather have chocolate
)
But The reason I need the Gym If The motivation 1. If I'm paying for it I will use it.
2. I've not long hit my target weight to learning to not over eat and if I do I can go to the Gym Burn it off.
3 I've Just stopped smoking 4 weeks 2 days So again I need this as I know I am replacing Cigs with food so again Gym helps me take this off again.
4, This is my only pleasure I now have stopped drinking so I dont risk smoking again.
But Thanks everyone keep those Ideas coming!

I'd agree with this, I understand about the gym. I know there are other forms of exercise, but if this works for you then that's cool. The gym is the only thing I can get enthused about when it comes to exercise as well.
However, £80 a month is very high, can you switch? My gym is in Mayfair in London and I pay £44 a month, that's not even the cheapest contract (didn't want to be locked in for more than 3 months at a time). So I think you can shop around a bit more for this, certainly.0 -

I sold all sorts of rubbish and it was surprising how easy most of it went.
I sold CD's, DVDs, videos, children grown out clothes, bedding, curtains, ornamants cluttering up cupboards (there were lots, bless the MIL, lol), unwanted perfume, Man Utd badges, scarves and old programmes, books, picture frames, toys and games, playstation 1 games, ... like I say, I did a total declutter of the house and listed everything I could lay my hands on.
I also did a carboot with my mum and we split the profits. Mostly sold stuff that never went on auction and larger items like coffee tables, bedside cabinets, shelving etc ...
I also collected in all my money from surveys (ciao etc) and banked it all.
I was amazed at how much money I made, how clean my house is and how organised I now feel.
Only problem is I have almost nothing left to sell, lol, but it is surprising how quickly you can accumulate stuff so will try and do the same next year (only this time hopefully my debt will be gone and it will be finds for xmas).
Good Luck with shifting you debt, take care.0 -
Re extra income, have you looked at the thread 'bit on the side' hunt in mortgage free wannabee?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
