Days Out Guide - cheapest train tickets?

Hi,
I read in the vouchers section about the National Rail days Out Guide website. The advice stated that you can get cheap train tickets to validate the 2 for 1 offers from about £2.
Does anyone know how to find these £2 single tickets? I've had a look at the Trainline website and looked at lots of ways of travelling within London (i.e. Kings Cross to Paddington) but they are always about £4 plus.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Vauxhall to London Waterloo, Anytime single £2
Info from East Coast website, but you could buy at any railway station (no extra cost), you can also buy online but some train companies have a min price policy (£5 for East Coast) and some charge booking/credit card fees (trainline)Whoa! Just to add, when I went to London this year, I used the 2 for 1 deals but used an Off-Peak 1 day travelcards Zone1-2 £5.60. This gave me not only cheap entry but cheap travel to get from one event to another.
But make sure that the travelcard is issued by a railway station or bought online so that you get the BR crow's foot logo, which is required for the 2 for 1 deals, underground issued travelcards don't have this logo.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
