does anyone know a trustworthy site, preferably free, where I can check if a car I am thinking of buying still has any finance on it or not! i have googled and found a few sites, all at £19.99 to do a finance check! i remember seeing an advert on tv showing that service for £3 but i just can't find it! i would prefer to pay by paypal but only if possible, im a bit wary of using my card online! thankyou

There is no free site. The £19.99 have indemnity insurance which will pay out if in the future it turns out it was stolen or on finance. The £3 ones don't offer that cover.0

thanks hammyman....you don't happen to know the name of any £3 sites, do you?0

Just watch the telly. This one gets advertised a lot. http://www.cartextcheck.co.uk/
Personally, if the car was a few grand and I was definitely buying it, I'd have the check with the indemnity insurance. Some people have owned a car for a few years then found out it was actually stolen.0 -
I know this is a money saving site but i would stick to a well known HPI company that will cover any come backs!0

I just used ww.cartextcheck.co.uk/ as I dont pay for my phone bill (my company does) and all looks good!
Ill still probably do a HPI check through RAC though to be sure as im picking the new car up on Weds (1st Sep).
Could really do with a promotional code for the RAC site to take it down from £15 to lower.
Here is the link to the RAC check by the way:
ww.rac.co.uk/products-services/car-data-checks
PS: As im new here the forum wont let me post links so I have removed a "w" from each link0 -
Cheap text checks are mostly useless.
Get a proper one done. Wasted £3.
You sure your company wont pick up on £3 texts?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
