"Message Interrupted" error when sending from BTinternet email address

A friend is trying to send me some images as attachments to an email via his BTinternet email account. Everytime he tries to do this, the email crashes with a "message interrupted" error before completion. At first we thought he was trying to send too many attachments, and timing out but it won't even send one. Messages without attachments arrive ok.

Can shed some light on it? I don't have a BT account myself (I have a pipex account).

How big is the image (file size)? The maximum size for an email with BT is 25MB. You need to substract about 25% from that to get the maximum file size. The rest is used for encoding the attachment.

Does your friend try to send the images as they are (*.jpg) or does he embed it into a Word document or so? Don't laugh, I've seen people doing this
