Natwest keep writing to me re applying for a Black Mastercard .....one of the conditions is a salary of > £75k ...I never reached such giddy heights in my days of employment and certainly not now I've been forced into early retirement!! I've even explained the situation in branch ...but still the letters come!0

I've had the same and, in my case, an educated guess would lead me to believe they were generated by account turnover (i.e. "credits" to the account - including simply transferring savings from another bank to cover debits to the current account - in excess of the monthly equivalent of £75k p.a. - £6250). I of course have no need to pay through the nose for the Black Mastercard, despite their regular invitations!0 -
On a related note, the criteria say a sole income of £75k or joint income of £100k. Presumably to satisy the joint income criteria both of you would need to bank with Natwest (and have your income paid into Natwest accounts)?0

Hello,
I have got the same issue now. They have adviced me to move to Telephone banking instead of private banking. Pls advice.
Regards
PravI was invited several years ago to join Nat West Private Banking but now I'm told that my account will be moved to their regular account as I do not earn £75,000 or have £50,000 savings. I never met that criteria so I am wondering why now? As a loyal customer with Nat West for over 2 decades I am not happy. Has this happened to anyone else?
