Groupon / Photobox £8 for £30 voucher (again)

I know quite a few people had a problem getting their voucher last time around, but Groupon are doing the £30 photobook voucher again for £8. You need to pay postage (a tad under £4), do £12 for a very nice personalised photobook.

If you cannot find it, check Southend, it comes up there.
Voucher is valid until end of October.
TIP - (thanks to pa2539 below). Use the voucher up in one go. You cannot use part of it, and keep the remaining credit.

I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole.
I'm still trying to find out where the 3 vouchers I bought last time are. So far they haven't even bothered to respond to my e-mails.0 -

then why recommend them?Voucher is valid until end of October.
if it arrives before then.
Worst customer service I've encountered in a very long time. MSE is irresponsible for continuing to recommend this awful company.0 -
Why recommend them?
Because (1) many people got their voucher OK within a day of the end of the deal. (2) Some people that didn't had it in the spam folder. (3) Hopefully they learnt from last time.
As to the quality, the photobox books are superb. And this is good timing for printing summer holiday photos.0 -
Nobody is questioning the quality of the photos, as they are supplied by a completely different company.
As to Groupon - I think it is a scandal that they should make the same offer repeatedly having completely failed to honour offers of the past. This is not learning a lesson, this is profiting from the ignorance of the public.
You say that many people got the voucher - do you think it is acceptable that any less than 100% of paying customers should get the voucher? We have all paid the same. All Groupon have to do is email a code! No postal delays, and no excuses.
It was good timing for Summer Holiday photo's, which is why I and others have been well and truly suckered.0 -
Im with Tenjiso on this.
Im one of the 'unlucky ones' who paid for 2, got nothing and heard nothing from Groupon first time around.
We live in a world where money, sometimes every penny, is important. We purchase things because they may help us or may make our life a little bit easier or nicer. We do not go down the high street taking cash from our pockets for a 80 or 90% chance of recieving what we pay for unless gambling is your thing!
In no way shape or form did Groupon make my life better, easier or nicer. In fact, they made life worse. Not once, but twice and again a third time.
If gambling WAS your thing, Would you seriously still hand money over to a company that has very little respect for you, but a hell of a lot of greed and gaul and who change their terms and conditions numerous times to suit their own needs?
Groupon is a gamble, thats a fact. Its a gamble I, and many other moneysavers lost.
Good luck to those going for this repeat offer!
(I wonder why they are doing this again? So many refunds?)0 -
Hey, you three - I also had problems when I bought two vouchers for Photobox back in May, they took the money but only sent me one voucher code. After no response to my complaints, I eventually gave up on it. But when this offer came up again a couple of weeks ago, I asked MSE Penelope to see if she could contact them on my behalf to see if she could get the missing code for me. It's taking a bit of time, but I'm now hopeful that I may get it. still wouldn't buy anything from them again. I totally agree that anything less than 100% delivery is unacceptable.0

Oh dear, I must learn to stop trusting things just because they are recommended by MSE and do some research before jumping in. Milk & More were the last disaster and I gave them 3 chances but they were consistent in messing up.
I signed up for the photobox deal on 11/08/2010. It said that the voucher would activate on 12/08/2010 so I assumed (surely understandably) that I would receive a voucher code via e-mail as soon as the offer closed. I received an e-mail on 13/08/2010 stating that "This time you won't receive your personal voucher by email - it will be sent by other means. You will hear from us soon".
I still hadn't heard anything today so I called them and after holding for a while I got through to a man who said "yeah I think they did have some problems with this one, if you give me your e-mail I'll pass it on and hopefully you'll get a code sent in next couple of days".
I was about to say that I wasn't confident that I would but after writing this I checked my e-mails and the voucher code with a polite apology message was there so all's well that ends well and I may well give them another try.:wave:0 -
Another thing to be aware of. I bought £15 worth of photos thinking I could use the other £10 after my hols and they just got rid of the excess credit.
I have today received this response "Thank you for your enquiry. The conditions of this deal were clearly advertised at the time of purchase, "Only 1 voucher redeemable per transaction." The remainder of this voucher will be forfeited in this instance."
Makes perfect sense to me ??????? Just to be aware if you do get the voucher make sure you use it all at once! Don't do the same as me!0 -
I used the version of the Edinburgh site for this deal (closed at midnight last night).
They sent the "we will contact you by other means" email at 12.07am and the same thing in my vouchers section. The second email with the actual voucher code came at 4.34pm. So, to me, it looks like they have sorted it out.
It might be of interest for those that want to give it a try. Obviously those that don't want to use them again need not try.
There are other cities with the deal still on - 7 hours left on Southend / Norwich.0 -

I read this but didn't understand that I would lose the rest of the voucher. I have just lost £16 credit then that I thought would have been added to my account. Maybe I'm stupid or it wasn't clear to me either.:T0
