Using the same estate agent to buy AND sell a property?

Hi there! We have our property on the market and we are looking to buy one in an area about 30 mins away. A majority of the houses in that area are with a particular agent I shall call "PG"
Now PG also has branch in our area. I am wondering if its worth ditching our current (not very good) agent and going with the PG branch in our area?
Someone said it could be good to have the same agent to sell/ buy with. They suggested they are more likely to favour us, push to get us better deals on the house we eventually want to buy as not to lose the sale of our own propety etc- if they think they can get a double commission out of us? (Though if they are two different branches so far away Im not sure if they would care?)
Part of me wonders if there is any advantages or is the reality we could be somehow putting ourselves at a disadvantage? Or does it make no real difference?
Am keen to hear any experiences or thoughts! Thanks

it may help a sale and cut out some legwork but dont expect a reduction0

Thanks in what do you think it could help our sale?0

well, when you put forward an offer on another of their properties, they know your chain position etc and therefore makes it more clear cut for them.0

I used the same agent to buy and sell. It seemed to make sense and he gave the highest valuation (out of 3) on the house I was selling. It all worked fine, I just had one man in one office to deal with. Saves on phone calls!0
