Need to get to Plymouth within the next 4 days and wondered if anyone knew the cheapest option.
For arguments sake, Glasgow or Edinburgh to Plymouth Railway Station, one way only. The obvious choice (train from Glasgow to Plymouth) is £155.
Off to look myself, but i'm sure theres some helpful folks on here will be used to journeys over these distances and the cheapest way to do them/split them up.

National Express or fly down. There are always deals on both coaches and flights to and from here and they're generally cheaper anywyIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0

There are some £122.50 advance singles from Edinburgh on Wednesday and Thursday. A bit more hunting around might better this
Edinburgh's a better bet as there are through trains.0 -
You can fly AirSouthWest for £120 Tuesday or Thurday this week
2% casback from quidco!0 -
Checked a lot out and with Quidco and a 10% discount, National Express is around £65 so it looks like thats the cheapest option.
Thanks all for the help.0 -
Try Megabus - too many permutations/combinations for me to try.
It's about 8 hours and £25 to get to London, but there's an overnight one leaving at 11pm.... so all you'd need to do is find a connecting bus from London to Plymouth at £15. e.g. there's one leaving London at 5pm on Thursday arriving in Plymouth 5.5 hours later.
So, it'd be a case of faffing around finding all the megabus routes/services and times.
You might be able to pick a night bus, followed by a day bus without having to book into a cheap B&B.0 -
485 miles 4 days...... get on the bike only 120 a day no problem!0

Had a wee play on megabus too, the times were crazy. Glasgow to London no probs, but the connection to Plymouth, 1 bus a day getting you there at 22:30.
Biking and hitchings novel, but the targets to leave and get back within 24 -30 hours. (obviously not a return though).0 -

Well its about a 9 - 10 hour drive on busy motorways pretty much all the way so hitching isn't as unlikely as you might think. There should be plenty of traffic throughout the day and night.0
