the cost will be £50 less as I have a discount code, one thing that worries me (not sure if it should) is the 256kb cache (is this enough, I am not clued up on this), if not is it easy to upgrade.
I have kept a close eye on posts made here but the more you read the more confusing it becomes, thanks all.

Don't worry too much about the cache, it's the RAM that's more important. It looks like it has 1Gb RAM, so that should be enough for most uses.

The cache is a small very fast block of memory for temporary storage of data likely to be used again. You can't really upgrade it, nor should most people need to.
  • 256kb cache is fine. You would notice a slight speed increase with 512kb of cache. A CPU cache is a cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations. The laptop isn't that bad actually, 1 gig of ram is quite a bit, 80 gig hard drive is quite a lot in budget laptop terms, graphics card ain't that bad, but it isn't the best either. It's not bad value, but you might get more bang for you buck on somewhere like ebay (all though you then risk not having warranties etc) depends on what's more important and what you're using the lappy for.
  • Thanks very much for all the help :T , learning and having fun :j :rotfl:
