Drive through Tesco

  • Hi all
    Fantastic idea.
I had an accident 10 years ago and can't push a trolley - hence I have to shop online and pay extortionate delivery fees. This would mean I could still shop online but pay less fees and go and collect the shopping when I wanted to (within the 2 hour slot) rather than waiting until the last 10 minutes of a 2 hour slot.
    Gets my vote!!:T

It's about saving on time and delivery costs. I think it's an absolutely fantastic idea.
Isn't the saving on delivery costs balanced out by the cost of driving there? And don't you have to spend as much time doing the shopping online anyway?

Not if you drive past there anyway. Say on the way home from work, but don't have the time to stop and go in to do a full months shop because you have to get home for the kids.

Or if you are going into town, but don't want to waste time shopping in the store, so you shop online the night before and pick it up when you go to town the next day. It would save you having to stay at home to receive the delivery. Or even ensure you get the shopping at a time that suits you, instead of having to wait until late evening as that was the only delivery slot left.

It's not for everyone, but it could be handy for some. Many shops do something similar, you ring or reserve online and your goods are waiting for you when you arrive.
