I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • The £18.50 and £22 charges for 1st and 2nd visits are correct, Don't know where they got the £161 from. They are not allowed to charge for bringing a van if they have never gained entry to levy goods. Write and ask for a breakdown of charges. Don't be fobbed off, you want an ITEMISED breakdown. Bailiffs have gotten away with making unlawful charges for a long time and need to be challenged.
BTW Don't let the bailiff in.
  • You are to be congratulated first off for almost clearing the debt and nearing the end of the tunnel with regards the mortgage! next thing is to speak to the CAB, they will be able to assist and advise with regards the Baliffs.

Its annoying really as the ballcock and associated pipework are easy if you know how but a mindfield if you don't. Is there no one that your hubby knows that is into DIY who could help?
  • Just wanted to say hi and send you some positive vibes - sorry I don't know anything about plumbing though. Maybe the CRB can help? As for the school I would expect the local education authority to be doing something. Anyway - here's hoping your OH finds a job soon.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. The reason im so angry is that they DIDN'T call on the dates they told the council they did. Am trying to prove that we were not out of the house. Had a letter put through on Tue of this week which we did recieve and am not disputing but we were totally skint during Aug and i know without any doubt when we were out. Have sent loads of evidence-well as much as i can think of.Bank statements showing no activity on the dates in question; Tesco recipts showing exactly the same shopping pattern(have also contacted Tesco for confirmation of this); Both hospital appointment letters and a letter from someone that called in on us on one of the dates(they can prove that they were in M/C on that day) Dont know if any of this will do any good but its 100% true. Its fustrating as we dont dispute we owe the money, are in a position to pay the full ammount in 3 or 4 instalments(legitamite charges as well) but council VERY intransigent and refused a payment of £150 last week

They are well sort of! school is closing in a couple of years. We suspect that is why head has "given up". Thanks for taking the time to reply.

dont forgot to get the book from the library.

obviously i can't see the problems but waste water type pipe work is easy to fit and connect up but obviously depends upon the detail.
Thanks for once i decided to do things in the correct order and went to libabry and reserved a book. Will have a go at that but wouldnt feel confident at trying to mend the bath(its pretty knackered anyway) as if anything bad happened it would further mess up the kitchen. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I thought it would a much bigger job.

Its kind of feeling sorry, a type of bottom lip out cloud over the head type of thing. A bit soft as we say up in the frozen north.
