Moved house-car insurance

I've moved house recently, and just got round to changing my car insurance, and the monthly premium has literally doubled! (i'm 21 years old and male..you can imagine my premium anyway!) Is this correct? I feel absolutely gutted, i bought a car on finance and budgeted so that i could afford the monthly repayments plus insurance.
Is there anything i can do realistically? I can't think of anything myself but, if there's a way to dig myself outta this little hole then i'll try.
