Have you looked on ebay?
Failing that, some high street stores do them so you could use voucher codes or get clubcard points? Argos do a range of pumps and filters and you get reward points their I think?
If not avoid garden centers and try an online stockist? I would avoid a solar one unless you want to pay top, top dollar for one.0 -

Depends what size pump you want-
ie
How many litres/galls you want to turn over per hour?
How high you are pumping the water---(head)?
Is the pump in the water, or is it dry mounted (outside the pond)?
For reliability, you could do worse than one of the aquamax range.I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0
