What are you all having for favours?

And are you giving them to women AND men or just the ladies (as tradition)??

What are you having? I am in a real quandry as to what to have lol!

Our colour scheme is Chocolate brown and Olive Green with accent colours of Gold and Ivory. Any ideas?

I need as cheap as poss - we are having 70 guests (men & women) and i would really like a favour which we can give to both sexes as i would like them to look nice on the tables, at each place setting etc.

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

In the local 99p store they have fifty pee shaped elizabeth shaw chocolates. currently on a promotion 2 for 99p! they are green and gold and i think gold and brown. They have about 5 chocolates in them i think.

    looking at this
http://www.elizabethshaw.co.uk/index.html looks like the orange and the mint flavour.
bit of a rubbish website though.
  • My theme is burgundy and champagne, so I'm having lottery tickets for the gents and heart shaped rose quartz stones for the ladies. We're only having 35 guests for the ceremony and meal though so not too much expense.

Someone I know had place settings in milk or dark chocolate with the persons name on in white chocolate, similar to the personalised stuff you get at Thorntons. They were wrapped in clear bags with a coloured ribbon that matched their theme.

For cheapness I stick to making it yourself, my future SIL made hers with cardboard cones filled with tissue paper and love hearts and it worked out really cheap; looked a lot better than it sounds :)

We have bought little organza bags and have put in chocolate coins and little packs of love hearts! They have cost me just over £10 for 39 guests! We giving them to everyone as I would feel mean just putting them on some places!

I work at the head office of a well known high street health & beauty retailer and we've got a staff shop where they sell own brand stuff cheap so I'm currently putting together little toiletries goodie bags for everyone. I've got nail varnish, little nail files, sachets of face cream and travel size bottles of toner for ladies, and so far travel sized tubes of face wash and moisturiser for the men. I'm struggling to find anything else to go in the men's bags! I've only spent £11 so far, and have 75 guests, but I've still got to buy bags (or fabric to make bags) and ribbon, plus some other bits for the men.

I was born and raised in Canada, and lived there up until 6 years ago. We are having maple leaf shaped bottles of maple syrup for our favours. Some of my family members are bringing them over to me, starting next week! I'm going to put ribbon in our colours around them, and attach the name cards.

I'm not planning on giving maple syrup to guests coming from Canada though, seems a bit silly. Any ideas of a British goodie to put out for a handful or two of Canadian guests?

  • We are going to have seed paper favours - did think about little packets of seeds in a matchstick style wrapper with date etc on, but we looked up on line;

and decided to give it a go our selves.
I ordered business cards from vistaprint for free (just paid postage) and funked them up a bit with a little poem and instructions and with a Thank you note from the new Mr and Mrs X :D
Though bout adding a little bit of food colouring to the mix perhaps to get colour to it...

I think we may get something like these chocolate coins for the younger ones - who wouldnt want/need flower paper....

Marmite's a classic, Cadbury's seems a bit silly now it's been sold to Craft... Worcestershire sauce maybe? If you wanted something sweet perhaps "English Countryside Honey" or "English Cottage Strawberry Jam" that you could put into jars yourself?

I love how personal the maple syrup idea is!
    I love surprises!
