Some easy places to visit (by train from Nice Ville station)
Villefranche - like Eze which has been mentioned, it is simply stunning and only 2 stops from Nice on the Monaco train. Actually I would combine with the morning in Monte Carlo and a stop of in Villefranche on the way back. Was there earlier this week (I am in the South of France now)
Antibes - much nicer than Cannes (IMHO anyway) great marina, markets and easy to get around.
Juan Les Pins - Lovely beach and can be combined with the trip to Antibes (next stop along from it)
