With the responses here, I'm not surprised Mr Steward decided to take down the responses to his blog.
So far, he's been referred to as a 'moron', I've been termed a 'village idiot', and in the further reading referred to above, Mr Steward is on the receiving end of more insults, including someone who thinks he should be jailed until he provides a scientific explanation.....
!!!!!!, what's everyone so annoyed about?
The fact that he is speaking from a position of authority. People will believe what he says (as he's supposed to be technically competent) and WASTE LOTS OF MONEY THEY DO NOT NEED TO ON RUBBISH THAT MAKES BUPKISS DIFFERENCE.0 -

Where did he said he held a position of authority?
You don't need to hold a position of authority to be correct, but generally speaking I'd prefer that those in positions of authority weren't completely wrong or lying.
Good of you to pop into this thread to snipe at people instead of addressing points in my earlier post though. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
A motoring journalist writes a column in a newspaper stating - "Taking the M6 Northbound from Carlisle is the best way to get to Cornwall". If I post a comment calling him an idiot, or saying he should be fired then according to "googler" this is not fair. Why? He's a motoring journalist and should know better; it might mean that someone who believed him wasted a lot of money; someone might be more likely to believe him because the misinformation was published in an "authoritative" source even though a quick look at a map would prove him wrong.0
