Six a Side Tournament - Do I need to organise Insurance?

Hi,
As ever, am hoping for some helpful advice. I'm organising a relatively small (8 team) six a side football tournament at a local leisure centre for my work colleagues.
The leisure centre in the terms & conditions strongly suggest that the organiser takes out adequate insurance to cover against any claims (even suggests a £5M amount to get covered for).
Given the average health of the participants is less than optimal, and sadly being one of those pessimistic sorts, something is gnawing away at me to say 'Don't blag it, and get yourself covered'.
So, given my urge to do the right thing, what's the best way of saving myself some money here but still covering off on all angles.
A few google searches seem to offer sports event insurance, but was hoping somebody with experience may be able to assist in pointing me in the right direction ?
Thankyou

As it is work colleagues could you not get your employer to agree to become involved in the organisation and thus take on the liability through their own insurance (They may need to check with their Insurers).
If you need to arrange cover yourself it would probably be prohibitively expensive.0 -
I wouldnt bother, its not something that anyone person could be responsible for. Your basically a group of friends having a kickaround. I work for an insurance company and we regularly play 5 a side against another insurance company and we dont bother with this! I guess that says it all0
