Help with a recent claim

Hello, hope someone can help.
Someone recently drove into my car when they were pulling out of a side road with a give way sign on a car park. It's not big damage at all but had to claim. The other person was sorry and said their fault.
Reported to my insurance company who is Elephant. All seemed fine.
Albany said yes their fault we will give you hire car etc.
The problems started then. Albany are useless. I've read on here since and it is all true and so similar!
I rang recently to confirm the hire car as my car was going into the garage only to be told that no i'm not getting a hire car as the other party has challenged the claim or 'changed their mind'. Albany forgot to update me about not giving me a hire car any more. Useless. Fortunately the garage have supplied a hire car.
I've given a diagram and description of the incident but feel as if Albany are doing absolutely nothing on my behalf when it was not my fault and the other party has changed their mind and is now trying it on? I've never had to claim before and have full protected NCB.
Does anyone know where to go from here? I've heard people on here about contacting the other insurance company? Is this OK to do and what do you do, what information can you get?
I'd like to put some urgency and find out what is going on but nobody can seem to update me. It seems the longer this goes on the more i'll be forced into accepting some blame when i'm not to blame.
Thanks - Andy.

What are Albany trying to do eg are they trying to arrange the repairs themselves or are your own Insurers arranging the repairs under your policy cover ?
Have the garage given you a courtesy car eg their own car or a like for like hire car ?0 -
My insurance is with Elephant and Albany are their legal team or something. Yes they have sent my car into a local authorised repair centre. I've been told to pay the excess when my vehicle returns (in a few days now) and then send the receipt in to try and claim.
But they seem to be doing nothing on my behalf to help me 'win' my claim.
Authorised garage gave me a little run around - their own not a hire car. No charges involved here.0
