New s&s monthly savings

I wish to start investing in a s&s ISA . Rather than using an IFA my own research suggests the following funds for using a monthly investment of £250.
Asia First State Asia Pacific Leaders (£50)
Europe Schroder European Alpha Plus (£50)
UK AXA Framlington UK Select Opportunities (£50)
America Legg Mason US Smaller Companies (£50)
Emerging Markets Aberdeen Emerging Markets (£50)

I'm now 51 yrs old and (hopefully) aiming for retirement at 60.
My approach can be 'adventurous' until I approach my retirement.

Views on the above funds would be much appreciated together with my approach to investment in general. Thanks.
