Hello all,
I'm trying my first attempt at video editing and not having much luck, could anyone recommend some free idiot proof software.
Thanks,
Pete

Depends whether you want linear or nonlinear. If you just want the ability to edit bits out then something simple like virtualdub will work fine. If you want to do NLE then you're probably going to have to spend something. There's Kino for linux that'll do NLE. You'll probably be able to pick up an older version of Vegas or pinnacle something or other for not too much cash. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

I imagine there will be Final Cut Pro users, Avid users and Adobe Premiere users who'd argue that last point of yours.

I'm sure they will, but I've been video editing on and off for about 10 years and tried just about every editing suite there is.0
