where to start?

Hi
this is all new to me but am on a mission now after reading on here and have been digging out old paperwork! Sorry if this has been asked before but am really confused!
I am currently on a personally agreed DMP with MBNA & BC since 2007. MBNA was originally £9000 now £6000; BC £1200 now £500. I am looking to reclaim PPI and late payment fees. I rang MBNA and they told me to send a chq for £1 for copies of statements I thought it was £10? I also had 2 loans (in 2005 and then re-structred in 2007 but now paid off) with Tesco Personal Finance which I have a copy of the loan agreements. What letters/fees do I need to send to them?
thanks x

    Hiya!

For PPI reclaim if you dont have account number just send £1 for a copy of a credit agreement, if you already have the account number send the questionnaire off to the banks. You could send without the ac number but they may ask so if you sent £1 they will send within 12 days, put that on your letter, there should be a template for credit agreement letters on here somewhere!

Its £10 for SAR which includes everything you have had with that bank, statements etc which i assume youd need for bank charges.

    Good Luck.

Any questions just ask away, we've all done it!
  • Thanks Halphy!

If you have had debt written off as part of your management then if you are successful in your complaint, they are allowed to pay the redress payment towards the debt written off. So, be prepared for that outcome.

  • Hi
I've not had the debt written off, still paying but they have frozen the interest so should be debt free in another 60 months ??? but if I am succesful they are welcome to put it towards the debt... think I might just see a light at the end of the tunnel. Going to also try with capital 1 cc and Argos store card now even tho these have been paid off.

    thanks for your help :)
  • Can you claim PPI on debts paid off when you have had a DMP through CCCS for several years and have managed to either pay off debt or have been able to achieve a final settlement on the debt?
Has anyone done this and has been successful?
  • Well I've received a reply from Tesco today, thanks for complaint etc. But then goes on to say the signature on the letter does not match the signature they have on record. (I printed my signature on the letter) For them to carry on investigating my complaint they have asked me to sign a form and send back to them, surely they should have all the information they need with what I sent them originally:- account numbers/copy of loan agreement.
Where do I go from here??

I would just comply and sign the form and send it back. They have to be sure you are who you say you are perhaps. The sooner you send this back the sooner they can look into it.

    Good luck

I think that is what Dunstonh has answered above. Even if the debt is paid off but you only paid a smaller/lesser amount than you should have done then they would still be allowed to use the redress against the shortfall.
