Help Hol For 22 Cancelled Was Going In 5 Weeks!!

wAY BACK I mARCH BOOKED A HOL FOR 22! GOT FREE CHILD PLACES ETC had a phone call from first choice saying the accomodation we had booked is closing early for winter (holiday village costa del sol) but that we would be pleased to know that at no extra cost we could go to BENIDORM INSTEAD !! after i politely said that at end of Oct weather would be rubbish etc they said could i maybe go to the original resort a week early so i had a quick ring round to check with everyone and most people think it would be ok so i phoned back and they said it would be 4k dearer that week!!! does anyone know if i have any rights the Benidorm hol would have been alot dearer at this stage as well but because i have been offered this as a like for like hotel they would not charge extra so i really do not see why they can't change to same resort,hotel just a week earlier!!!:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Price up flights ,accom seperate,do your transfers via resorthoppa or shuttledirect, -they will lay on a bus just for your party. there will be plenty accom available in OCT . If its cheaper tell Ist choice to ram it.

What was the reply?

I am not sure you have rights to demand an equivalent alternative (after all it may not be available).
But you should be entitled to a full refund.

I would certainly question them as to why they can't do it.
You might also mention how much bad publicity they will get by letting down this many people.

Whatever holiday you get offered by them - even at a different time THEY should pay the difference. You shouldn't have to pay a penny more - they have broken their end of the contract.

Get firm with them!

thanks for advice! i have managed to get price down to 552 extra to pay spread across the 22 people and first choice seem to think i have had an amazing deal!! i said sorry but i don't feel amazing!! 22 people have changed hol.car parking ,travel insurance etc! i have paid the money now couldnt book sep as its a exclusive to first choice hotel! i will be writing to them to complain but at least we are still going,the week we have changed to is half term hol which originally was alot dearer which is why we opted for the week later
