Flies found in sealed wine bottle

Hi everyone
I bought a case of wine from Costco which is of a large brand name, but on taking it hope and going to open one I noticed something floating inside the bottle... Dead flies!
Now... I know I could take the bottle back to Costco and ask for a replacement which is well within my rights, but, how much is it worth to the wine brand? Im certain that they do not want this to go to the health people of the government.
So, what anyone knows/thinks of the situation would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your advice and opinions.

However regardless of my view I can't see you getting much from them as you have not drunk it and suffered from it and because if they are reputable as soon as they find out they will recall whatever batch that bottle came from. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

Similar thing happened to me (different shopping chain) and that is what I did. Wrote to the company informing them I had found some dead insects inside a wine bottle. A rep from the company actually came to my house and took details. Later I got a voucher for £20.0 -
Op, your are quite right, Money saving forum, go back to the store, get a full refund and in all probability some "compensation"( in my opinion not warranted) you did not drink any, but to imply blackmail is not Money saving !0
