I would recomend book your flight as early as possible, and leave accomodation till 2 or so weeks before.
As the other guys have said £133 from manchester is probably the best flight you will get,but the earlier you book the best date selections you will have.
Last 2 years I have booked to Majorca with Easy jet as I am based in the south west,
And booked accomodation with Thomson
Feb 2006 per room per night up to 3 people hotel santa lucia for £18 half borad )yes per romm not per person)
March 2005 via http://www.hotelscomparison.com/ all inc for £13 per person per night
April 2006 Majorca 2 night in apartment Bonaire for £1 per night and moved to Magaluf for 3 nights in the sahara/fiesta for £1 per appartment per night
I plan to book a 2 flights shortly to majorca for jan-april, and book accomodation 2-3 weeks before we go.look on thomson now for oct and you can see the sahara/fiesta for £3 per night.
Thats
£133 flight
£7-21 appartment for 7 nights
£25 taxi to magalluf I catcht the bus for €5 and €5 return
£25 taxi to magalluf or hire a car for a week from £58
£190 - £197 per week or £1-3 per night to extend 8,9,10,14 nights etc
Plama bay hotel Arenel €15 taxi from airport for all inc from £260 per room for 7 nights
plus 7%cashback of thomson and alpharooms

Thomsons are always good for cheap last minute hotels got my mom the Son Matias last year for £8 per room per night
Seen the Santa Lucia as low as £5 a night per room.
Even if I had booked SC I would have rebooked the hotels at that price just for the mealsIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -

Update your original post for the other msers as the dates people are seeing are not the dates you actually want now."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
He had to change his dates so can go anytime after the 6th Oct and no later than the end of December. All other details are the same."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Hi
Not a holiday but accomodation advice.
We're going from Manchester in Dec.Have just booked a night in the Travelodge (next to terminal) there the night before for £26.00. Going to Florida so didn't want to drive. Got an national rail airport getaway ticket £46.00 return. Total =£72.00 for 4 of us. Bargain me thinks!
Just a thought incase you've got an early flightTitch

You are right, Sloppychops is certainly good at finding bargains. Just wanted to say that for October I would avoid Minorca as evry one I know who went at that time of the year found the weather was very very windy and cooler. The Costa Blanca or Del Sol would be the warmest and then Mallorca as 3rd choice. I feel quite envious reading those bargains. Unfortunately, I need to know if the area is flat and the hotel good quality and not too far from the airport and the flights have to be at a good time - got a bad heart so can't take chances.0 -
Jake'sGran...If you havnt already tried it you might like the Son Matias Beach in Palma Nova.
My moms in the same situation and as you and she wouldnt go anywhere else
Even got plugs for electric scooters and they can be delivered direct to the hotel.
Also can arrange for a wheelchair/driver to met you at the airportIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -

Yes, I have been to Palma Nova to the hotel Sol Cala Blanca which is right next to the beach. I went with my daughter and her family. There is a lovely flat long walk around the beach. I just take my time and sit down as necessary. The town area with shops etc is a bit far for me. My daughter thinks I should have a wheel chair but my husband pulls his face (not sure why). I get a lot of help at airports as the airlines are quite considerate especially Monarch. In Palma airport it is not possible for me to do that ridiculously long walk to the luggage area. I will have a look at the hotel you suggest and see it's location.0
