iveco van cambelt change

can anybody knowlegable advise me what 2 do as am contemplating contacting trading standards/solicitor 2 take my merchanic 2 small claims court.i asked him 2 do the cambelt of which he did then 3months later the tension pulley went and caused the van 2 b more or less a write of not 2 mention having 2 payout £200 plus in recovery feas.i am told by other merchanics that realy they are suspose 2 put a cambelt kit on so this problem does not arise and 2 make it even worse the part only cost an extra £10 plus the kit is only aprox £20 more my merchanic covers himself by saying that u only asked me 2 do the cambelt but a good merchanic would adise the cutomer 2 get the kit,please can any solicitors or others reading this thread please adise going 2 contact a solicitor plus trading standards.
