Hugh F-W has a recipe for "Dilly Beans" in his Everyday recipe book I think, and also one for beans cooked in tomato sauce which looks good. You may be able to find them online if you google them.0

Thanks all for lovely bean ideas - I have masses of french beans this year and don't want to make chutney as we hardly ever eat it, but some of the recipes on here sound wonderful. Could someone on here please tell me: do I need to blanch green beans to freeze them ? They are so fresh and I pick them quite small so I thought blanching might mean they're overcooked when I need to use them, I did ask on the quick questions thread, but I can see there are real bean experts on here !0

You are probably already doing this - but cold, cooked green beans are great in salads. There is of course the famous salade nicoise, with tomato, tinned tuna, boiled egg, olives etc. Or other variations, combining the beans with (smoked) chicken instead of tuna. Or with chickpeas, tomatoes and a chopped shallot. Or simply by themselves in vinaigrette.
Another one we like is a basic curry with potatoes, tomatoes, and green beans. They really are pretty versatile! My own green beans are usually quite late, and coincide with the tomato glut - hence these combinations."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -

Any chance of a recipe for that "basic curry" with beans and tomatoes please? I've also got a lot of green beans to use up and tomatoes stil coming out of my ears...0
