I mentioned this on another thread, but am just wondering if twe're being naive?
We were due to complete next week (a date requested by the vendors) and yesterday my solicitor told me they had not yet received the contracts from the sellers solicitor.
Everything else is in place, surveys done, mortgages approved etc, so is it just slackness or are they holding back for some reason?

Do you mean that you are supposed to exchange contracts next week or actually complete the sale next week?
I'm not sure I understand correctly but has the sellers solicitor not received the contracts from the seller yet or do you mean that the sellers solicitor and your solicitor have not exchanged contracts yet?0 -
We have not exchanged because my solicitor is not in receipt of the vendors contract.
They wanted to complete within 6 weeks and from what I understand it is possible to exchange and complete on the same day if necessary.0 -
What you want and what you get are rarely bedfellows in house buying.
The paper processes and box ticking are slow and behind a veil of silence.0 -
TBH, we're not the ones in a hurry to move as we are not selling. It would suit us to move then, but it's not a problem. I just wondered if there was a reason they were stalling - considering they are the ones pushing to complete asap?
Thanks for your input.0
