New Folder password protection?

Hey,

I'm using a shared laptop and I have a folder on it with private files is there any way I can put a password on this file or something similar so no-one else can access it?

There are many ways. Personally I would recommend Truecrypt. It's a bit more technical than simply password protecting a folder, but it's very secure and versatile.

I don't know much about the other methods, but I think there was a similar thread just a few days ago, so have a look for that.

Depends, are you the only person logging in with this account. If so, right-click folder, General Properties, click Advanced and set check-box encrypt contents. Assuming you are using NTFS file system on Windows

Who's laptop is it? If it's yours, just create a second account and password protect yours. Or use the already mentioned Truecrypt.
