Help with itunes please

My itunes library has become a bit fragmented, it is displaying albums in pieces, for example charango by morcheeba shows 6 times with a couple of tracks in each display, its done it to loads of albums, it wasn't like this before, its just started to look like this since i got iphone and syncing with my exsisting itunes library.
it is splitting up complitation albums into single tracks but also splitting albums of one artist.

Can anyone help me set them to play as 1 album complete each time?

There is an option to right click on each album to consolidate but i'm not sure what this will do?

the libary table has the subjects listed at the top , track name, artist ,album . something like that. What you do is click once album then click artist. It sorts the tracks in order of album then artist. and should sort out the fragmentation. The only problem is that various artist albums you need to manually right click go to track info and select part of compliation.
