Income Insurance Question - can I claim?

Hi,
I have income insurance with Ant Insurance.
When I took out my insurance I was on a permenant contract with my employer. I then changed jobs and moved onto a yearly renewable fixed term contract - which has always been renewed year on year.
Heres the problem:
My employer have said that they have to make huge cuts and basically I am now At Risk of redundancy. My Contract end date says Dec 31st and this time, there will be no renewal. My question is:
Can I make a claim through my insurance for income cover?
Or, will they not pay out, as technically I am on a fixed term contract regardless of the fact that each year it has always been renewed (and up until this week, I was under the impression a renewal would take place!)
Any advice appreciated

Check the policy docs. There is what they are for.
You are contract worker and many of these plans will not cover you for unemployment on contract work. Just accident and sickness. However, it varies with policies.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
