hsbc lost money

my daughter is with hsbc she moved out and is renting a flat she set up a standing order with them for £350 a month to her landlords bank but for the first 2 months he did not reacive the money he and my girl went in the bank to sort it out they re done standing order then asked to return the money that had gone missing £700 from her account but so far it has not yesterday she went in again to find out and complain as the money still has not turned up this has been going on since june of this year she has told them hsbc that if it is not sorted out she will take action please if anyone can help her with more advice on this i would gladly like to here from you asap

  • did the money go 'missing' because your daughter filled in a wrong account no. in the standing order? If that's the case then obviously HSBC need to recover that amount from the unknown beneficiary and it's not really their fault.

    But if everything was setup correctly first time, then your daughter should send a complaint and request an update email via her HSBC online internet access.

    Agree with happyhunter. Finding out if the account details were given in error by your daughter should be easy enough. If she did give incorrect details then she has no complaint with the bank, surely?
