I have an old Plasma tv which I purchased approx 7 years ago. The screen has now gone and I have replaced it with a new one. What can I do to recycle the old one? Is it of any value?

If it still works then yes it has a value, although not much.

If it doesn't work then I would take it to my local landfill site.

I think they are the only alternatives really

    enjoy the new one though...:T

I dont know if its repairable. It just stopped working one day so I dont know what the problem was but it was time for an upgrade anyway.

Was thinking of putting on ebay for parts or repair but maybe there is a better/easier way?

If you want it to generate cash, put it on Ebay with "local collection only" - as you really don't want to have to package and post a plasma screen.

If you want to ditch it in an environmentally friendly way, take it to a local authority tip which has a cage for TVs to be recycled (most should have these days).

For minimum aggro, offer it on your local Freegle group. Someone will come and take it away, believing (rightly or wrongly) that they can fix it.

See if your local TV repair man or woman would like it.

They may be able to repair it and resell it at a profit, and they may even pick it up from you.
