Interest Rate on Alliance Issue 5 Online Saver

Hi,

Can anyone confirm the interest rate and when it stops? From memory it is 3.15% (including the 2% bonus) and it runs through to November or December this year?

Also does anyone know how to extract this information from the online account? I have logged into my account and tried, but I cannot find the information.

I had an online Saver 5 and mine was 3.15% until the 12 month anniversary, so I suppose it depends on when you took it out. There used to be a way of checking by entering the first 3 digits of the account number on the A&L website but I think since the Santander takeover and migration of accounts, they removed that feature.

Edit. My rate expired on the 2nd August. I assumed it was the 12 month anniversary.

My welcome letter (Online Saver 5, issue 1c, account number starts 185... 3.15% including a bonus of 2.65%) says that it reverts to a variable tiered rate on 2 Aug 2010. The welcome letter is dated 10th July 2009 and it all looks pretty standard, so I don't know if it's a "one year"er or not. Best to call/message them in case you're already off the end of it.

I phond A & L/Sandtander Tueday just gone in respect of this very same account to be told the interest rate is now 0.5%. I do not jest! Get your money moved pronto

And beware, Sandander tried to tell me it would take two weeks to get my money back until I told them I'd be onto the Ombudsman pronto if that money wasnt in linked my account within a week

I think the best way is to telephone then and set up an esaver, get the balance transferred across instantaneously and then withdraw it to your linked account. In the meantime, you'll be earning 2.75%.

    Yes,

I have now found the notes I made at the time:

"AL Issue 5 - 3.15% first year unlimited amount, switch after 1 year, opened mid August 2009"

Any suggestions for the switch, circa £20K, which is due now! ISA all used up. Fixed term bonds or rates not suitable.

3 x Lloyds TSB vantage @ 4%. A bit fiddly, but probably the best if you want instant access. Plenty of threads about it around here.

My Online saver issue 5 ended on 2nd August also. I moved the money to their Esaver paying 2.75%. I couldn't see that I'd been paid any interest on the issue 5 account. Has anyone been paid the interest yet?
