A couple of days later I got a call from Mint asking me to confirm if I'd attempted to make several online purchases throughout that day. All of which they'd declined.
iTunes was attempted a few times and she tole me 3-4 others which I can't remember.
Most of these tranactions were in US Dollars, some in Euros and a couple in Pounds Sterling.
Anyway, non of these were my transactions and the women said not to worry, my card had been cancelled and they were sending me a new one out with a different number.
When I asked how this had happened as I know for FACT that my card hasn't been borrowed/stolen, she was very relaxed in saying that these people have ways of coming up with Credit Card Numbers and I needn't worry about it. :eek:0 -
As I say, there is nothing anyone can do to stop it so there is no benefit in being worried about it - even not having a credit card doesnt prevent you being a victim of credit card fraud as there is always Identity Fraud cases. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

My Halifax credit card was used fraudently a few weeks ago - Stagecoach UK featured as one of the few low value transactions (and there were also low value charges from a US coach company). There were loads of online betting/casino transactions(totalling well over £1k).
I also found it interesting that I was asked to destroy my cards but the person I was speaking to never asked me if I still had them in my possession !0
