Just picked mine....er I mean the kids'....up tonight from Woolowrths.
It is a Top Secret one (if that actually makes any difference??)British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Mine were delivered today, less than a week after ordering from the woolworths site showing the 'Warning' box.
They are all 'Top Secret' boxes.
Thinking of offloading 3 of them next month as there is going to be a hell of a lot more than 147 ebay listings come December.
I am keeping 2 for presents.You're my wife now!!0 -

The ONLY thing that will matter, though, is if there are none in the shops and more people wanting them than are actually listed on ebay, surely?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

sapphire_uk wrote:i looked everywhere for a elmo.. i finally got one from woolworths online. but today i go to my local shops. 2 mins walk from me and to my surprise a shop there has got them. The shop is just a small family business shop that sells toys household goods and cards.. I was shocked to see Elmo there on the counter. LOL
Reminds me of a good few years ago (pre ebay days) when beanie babies were all the rage and the bears in particular were what everyone wanted, independent toy shopekeepers across London were charging £70 upwards for a £5 bear and my daughter was determined to have one. I wasn't having any of it.
Xmas eve I walked up the road to meet a friend, and a wierd little bric a brac shop I'd never noticed before had a whole set of these bears in the window.
Walked in and and the lady said a fiver each, so bought a complete set (think it was about 6 bears or so). Devised a little treasure hunt with clues etc for my daughter on xmas morning and we had a teddy bears picnic in the afternoon ;+)
She's 16 now and still talks about it...as the best crimbo ever. I think she's still under the impression I paid £70 a bear - No Chance0 -
Woolworths still seem to have plenty left so i guess there not that hard to find as also Amazon have stock.
Although Woolworths depatch date changed from 10th Oct to the 24th Oct so i guess they are waiting on more to arrive?0 -
Amazon have no stock and AFAIK haven't since they sold their initial batch on the first day.

Edit: Prices on Amazon.com are creeping up all the time. Lowest price is now $170. If these REALLY DO become impossible to find in the shops around December time, is it beyond the realms of posibility for that price to rise to $500-ish? And what about if the Top secret packaging really does become a Collector's item?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
