Pretty close, but the Samsung has an extra HDMI port so I'd go for it. I'd prefer to squeeze a bit more budget and get a FreeviewHD or FreesatHD tuner, and a FullHD ready screen.

I have had my Samsung for 6yrs +. I love it. Don't really know about LG though my brother loves his too, he has a 50in. *rolls eyes*. I kinda agree with almillar though, if it's only a wee bit extra for the freeview/HD stuff then I think you should wait :)

you can get the LG for £10 less at richer sounds inc a 5 year warranty http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/lg/42pj350/lg-42pj350
i have a 50" LG plasma (superseded my 37" LG lcd) and its a cracking screen
you really need to see the TV's in the flesh and see what you prefer
the LG razor screen surround makes them look pretty nice
i wouldnt worry about HDMI ports as switches are cheap, but it depends on your setup
i only use one port on my TV as i have the seperate surround sound set up

Budget, size, type, I bought a new 32 inch LCD Panasonic with built in freesat and freeview and a free 5 year garauntee, I also have two friends who have also bought new 32 inch LCD's we all bought different makes, Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony, mine the only one with the built in freesat tuner, all picture quality comprable but the panasonic has better sound. I sit smuggly feeling I bought better

What do you use your Tv for if you love watching movies go for plasma if you just like playing games like PS3 go for a LCD if you want best of both go for LED you also want a backlite TV as it gives the best picture.
