Morning guys!
We got married last saturday and a family member kindly filmed the whole day for us on our SONY DCR-PC9E PAL MINIDV CAMERA. We have watched it back through our TV but really need to put it on DVD and possibly edit it a bit?
Can anyone tell me how to do it, we dont have a DVD recorder, but we have a PC, and what software (pref free) is safe to download to help transfer?
Also what would I need to buy DVD/CD wise? Its nearly filled two 90 min tapes!
Look forward to your replies!!

If you have a Firewire port on your PC, then you only need a cable costing a few pounds.
XP & onwards comes with Windows Movie Maker, although you'll have to download that from Microsoft if you are using Win 7 as they saw fit not to include it for some reason (it's a free download).
You will also need a DVD recorder in your PC if you don't have one, and don't pay any more than £20 for one either.
If you intend to record more than 2 hours worth of footage to DVD, then I would recommend using dual layer discs to maintain video/audio quality.
Windows Movie Maker isn't the best offering in the world (no freebie is), but it will do what you want and is very simple to use.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
hi again
i cannot get the windows movie maker to burn to a dvd format that will play on our television.
I downloaded a trial version of Smart DVD creator but only lets you burn 80% of your video.
Do you know of any free software that will enable me to burn dvd player friendly.
many thanks:heart2::heart2::heart2: I LOVE MY BEAGLE! :heart2::heart2::heart2:0 -
