Santander transferred ISA to lower interest one without our permission

Here we go again. Hubby transferred his ISA to a postal fixed rate ISA and it was an internal transfer. Took nearly 4 weeks, got letter today to say all was now complete (letter dated 12th August) and his Direct ISA issue 6 was now open!!!He wanted a Fixed Rate Postal ISA interest 3.00, the direct ISA is only 2.00 as he doesnt have over 9K to stick in there!. No letter or call asking beforehand if this is acceptable to him, they have just done it, but taken 10 days to send the letter to us.:mad::mad::mad::mad:He is so cross he cant muster up the energy to go into branch to sort is as this is where he initiated the transfer. It used to be B and B. He said he doesnt want to spend a precious Saturday waiting on the phone to this shower either. It just gets worse and worse:eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad:

After all your posts about their 'service'

I have to ask why use them? :wall:

Admittedly I have had no problem with my current account, probably because I manage the account on-line and only have 1 Direct Debit.
With all the providers available on the interweb why? why? why? did you chose WeDon'tCare, sorry mistake, Santander?
For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

In that case, how about a short polite letter to their Head Office, explaining what has happened; telling them what you expect them to do about it, and clearly marked at the top: "COMPLAINT". That starts the ball rolling so that if they can't sort things out to your satisfaction you can take it to the ombudsman.

fairtrade, he transferred to another ISA ( the other one used to be B and B, branch based no prob) within Santander because he has been the victim of Id theft and the whole rigmarole of id checks he felt would be worse than a straight transfer within the same provider. How wrong to put still more trust in them!!!!!!!!!Yes there are a lot of providers on the web, but once you have been a victim of id theft proving who you are with online accounts is very difficult and he just thought well it will sit there doing nothing for 2 years and I can deal with branch ie a human being face to face.Surely things will be straight forward and I wont have to have any dealings for 2 years. Hungerdunger, thanks for your post. I think he may indeed do what you say, he also has another complaint escalating to the Information commissioner and the F O re loss of id with Alliance and Leicester. I think he will just probably transfer it to another provider asap thank you both very much for your posts though and taking the trouble to reply. I think its a case of lesson learned !
